1.1. Phương thức để nhận biết
Với dạng bài viết Advantages – Disadvantages đề bài sẽ đưa ra cho bạn một vấn đề hoặc ý kiến và yêu cầu các bạn phải chỉ ra những nhược điểm cũng như các ưu điểm của nó.
Thông thường dạng bài viết Advantages – Disadvantages được chia làm thành 2 loại:
Loại 1: Chỉ liệt kê ra những ưu điểm và nhược điểm
Ví dụ:Knowledge is now instantly accessible to individuals worldwide via computers and smartphones thanks to the internet. A lot of this information is also free. Describe this trend’s benefits and drawbacks.
Loại 2: Người viết cần chỉ ra liệu những ưu điểm có lấn át được nhược điểm hay không
Ví dụ: Some professionals feel that primary school is the ideal time for kids to start learning a foreign language rather than secondary school. Do the benefits outweigh the drawbacks in this situation?

Topic: Many foods are shipped from far away. Some people think that eating local foods is more environmentally and economically. Do you think the advantages outweigh its disadvantages?
In this contemporary era of fierce rivalry, the transportation of a large variety of goods from different cities or nations may negatively affect locally produced food. But in my opinion, the latter clearly has more advantages than drawbacks.
On the surface, eating locally grown food appears to have certain disadvantages. One of them is the absence of uncommon or diverse tastes. People in Vietnam today, for example, would grow tired of having a small selection of food options or would never have the opportunity to try, and likely enjoy, the taste of, a similar type of food that is actually imported from other countries, such as Kobe beef from Japan, if they did not have access to strange food from far away.
However, compared with food transported from other regions, eating food produced locally is significantly more beneficial in economic, environmental, and educational terms. From an economic point of view, local food does not involve excessive transportation leading to higher and higher costs, especially with increasing fuel prices taken into account. This is also associated with less damaging effects on the environment related to the shipping of food products by plane from abroad. In terms of education, consuming local food helps nurture patriotism among young generations, orienting them towards preserving and developing the sense of using indigenous products. In today’s world of globalization, the effort to consume local food is thus playing an indispensable role in maintaining the identity of each and every local culture.
In a word, the downside of eating locally produced food is outweighed by its upside. This is, in actual fact, true from economic, environmental, and educational viewpoints.

Google is a prime example, because it allows people to easily search for whatever they are looking for quickly and accurately.
One potential negative is that students may occasionally duplicate material from the internet when using the internet to perform academic work. Students learn relatively little as a result of not having to think much about their assignments. According to a recent piece in The Sunday Times, 72% of college graduates in the UK admitted to copying and pasting passages from Wikipedia at least once.
The majority of students will use the power of the information superhighway to further their education rather than utilizing it to cheat, making it a very beneficial development overall. For instance, a 2005 study by Cambridge University indicated that students who utilized computers frequently had a 26% higher chance of graduating with a first-class degree than those who did not.
In conclusion, the web has provided a gateway to knowledge unlike anything seen before and although it can sometimes lead to a few taking the easy route and plagiarizing, it is a very positive step in the evolution of education.
